Hello and a very warm welcome to Irish Portraits

My name is Collette and I am a portrait artist living in rural County Wexford in the southeast of Ireland. After receiving an incredible following so quickly on my facebook page I figured it was about time that I should design a website where you can get to know a little more about me and maybe I can answer some of the questions that you may have. This website will be updated from time to time as an ongoing project, so stick around and if you have any questions or suggestions please feel free to contact me. On this website you will find a Biography, a gallery of my previous commissions and information on how to commission your very own artwork or gift for a loved one. I will also be offering some limited edition fine art giclee prints of my most famous dog portraits and animal portraits that you can purchase. For now here is a little info on the emotive portraits that I can create for you.

“For anyone on the fence about whether they want to hire this wonderful lady to do a portrait I strongly recommend her! The pictures over the internet do not do these drawings any justice. Yes they look fantastic...but they look THAT much better in person.
I received mine today and was absolutely blown away even though I already saw it before she shipped it. The amount of detail she was able to get from an old crappy bunch of glossy 4x6 old school pictures is just amazing. I think this lady practices witchcraft because the talent shown (At least in my drawing) is unhuman.”

Pastel Portraits

For coloured portraits my preferred medium is pastel. I find this to be a wonderful medium to explore my passion in capturing the texture and form of our fury friends. I work on pastel paper in a realist style to create rich expressions true to the spirit of each animal that I draw.

Pencil Portraits

Quite often I also work in pencil. The simple monochrome pencil portrait creates a classic portrait that is timeless. Graphite pencil has always been the first tool I use to capture my subjects form and detail. I believe the simplicity of black on white pencil portraits can often evoke quite an emotional response in the viewer.
